Program Description

The fully online Master of Education in Online Innovation and Design (ONID) equips graduates to navigate the rapidly shifting intersections of education and technology. Students develop a robust digital portfolio of work that reflects practical application of theory.

This program is perfectly suited for distance students, busy professionals and students with family commitments who cannot attend traditional campus-based classes. The program culminates with a comprehensive exam or by completing a research project or thesis. Students may choose the path that best fits their learning style and educational goals.

The ONID program was developed as a cooperative endeavor between the UAF School of Education and UAF eLearning & Distance Education. Classes are taught by education professors and eLearning professionals who work in the field of online course design on a daily basis.

The ONID program helped me become a better teacher and that translates into the quality of my relationships with my students. I learned to think critically and thoughtfully about what I’m teaching, why I’m teaching it and what I want my students to get out of a lesson.
